Louisiana Catholic Federal Credit Union Scholarship
2024 Scholarship Requirements
Scholarship applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a graduating high school senior intending to attend college the fall following graduation.
- Must be a primary member in good standing of Louisiana Catholic Federal Credit Union PRIOR to submitting the application for this scholarship.
- Must have a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 cumulative (unweighted on a 4.0 scale).
- Must not be the child or grandchild of a LCFCU employee, Board of Directors or Supervisory Committee.
Selection Criteria:
Applicant will be judged based on, but not limited to, the following:
- Academic Achievement
- Character
- Leadership
- Involvement in community, church/parish, high school
- Original Essay
- Letter of Recommendation (submitted in sealed, confidential envelope along with application)
Submit the following by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024.
(Applications become the property of LCFCU and will not be returned.)
- Completed application
- Most recent High School Transcript
- Copy of ACT or SAT score
- Resume’ of extracurricular activities (such as school, community, church/parish, employment)
- Letter of recommendation from someone (non-relative) knowing applicant from one of the extracurricular activities included on the resume’ citing examples of work ethic, character, accomplishments and/or examples of behavior that deems the applicant deserving of scholarship.
- Essay (approximately 500-700 words, typed, double-spaced on separate sheet
Prompt: What skills and character traits should a young person have or begin to develop in his/her life that would better ensure sound financial management in college and on into adulthood.
